Origin of the brand

Baltimore is a young French prêt-à-porter brand that reinvents timeless pieces and combines both quality and value. Created in Paris in late 2015 by two friends Nicky and Quentin, it is the first brand to offer a collection of overalls for both men and women, manufactured in Portugal

The idea of launching a ready-to-wear brand was born on a trip to the USA, down the East Coast. It was during a stop in Baltimore that we discovered a pair of overalls hanging in a thrift shop which reminded us of childhood. Back home in France we began our search for the perfect set of overalls only to find a gap in the market, we realized that we were not alone in our search. This was our lightbulb moment, to explore the idea of overalls for adults. And so Baltimore’s story begins, the project will be launched only in late 2015, after we both left our jobs to devote ourselves to the project 100%.

There you have it, the history of Baltimore. A French brand, established less than a year ago, steeped in travel, new encounters and cosmopolitan places where we leaved.

Baltimore's concept

Baltimore is a cosmopolitan brand offering quality pieces designed in France and manufactured in Portugal with European fabrics. It is the fusion of product know-how, quality material and human relations from different walks of life, creating a product with a rich, patchwork history.

Our motivation is to bring something new in the ready to wear industry while respecting some values of transparency and respect. We want to be ambassador of our actual society.

Baltimore’s first collection will be exclusively dedicated to a sole, timeless piece: The overall, available in different models for men and women.

To date, we are the first brand to develop a collection exclusively of overalls. This unique 2 in 1 concept enables you to switch between overalls, pants, shorts and skirts as you prefer.

We find our inspiration from vibrant cities where we have been living or traveling and named our pieces Canal St Martin, Shoreditch, Camps Bay …

 

Our values

Our mission is to surround ourselves with the best partners in order to offer you a fair price without compromising on quality. Our pieces are timeless, durable, and we try to be part of the sustainable consumerist movement offering responsible fashion choices.

After several months researching the most suitable fabrics, engaging with numerous factories across France and wider Europe and meeting several of them face to face, we finally selected Porto in Portugal.  We fell head over heels for a small family workshop, the team, their know-how and respect for values that we believe in.  

Our materials are selected for their quality and come from several renowned European suppliers who have provided fabrics for various high-end brands.

We laso wanted to add an engagment to our company : for each pair of Baltimore overalls purchased, we will offer you a solidary cotton tote bag. We chose to collaborate with an Indian NGO representing female empowerment and children’s education in New Delhi.
